Episode Guide - Season 2

 023 * Cutting It Close

Jesse is in his room playing his guitar when Stephanie comes in and instantly shuts off his amp. She is playing pretend 'hairdresser' in her room and has come to collect her next client. Jesse doesn't want to but gives in to his niece and goes to her 'salon' where Joey is already seated wearing hot-rollers. Jesse panics when he sees the scissors and remind her to be careful. As Stephanie 'cuts' Jesse's hair, she accidentally cuts off a chunk of his hair, which forces him to go to his hairdresser, Alejandro. Heading back home on his motorcycle, Jesse is so upset about having to get a real haircut, that he wrecks his bike and breaks his arms. He comes home wearing casts, much to the shock of both the family and Stephanie. Despite his pleas, they remove his helmet to reveal his new haircut. While D.J hugs him, Stephanie also tries to hug him but accidently grabs his arm, causing him pain. The broken arms limit his ability to do things such as dressing and undressing, getting in and out of bed, brushing his teeth, shaving, stamping envelopes, playing his music, and making himself meals. Stephanie feels responsible for Jesse's accident, and it takes the combined efforts of Danny, D.J, and the rest of the Tanner household, to persuade her otherwise. When Danny catches Jesse kicking his trashed motorcycle from the wreck, he brings Stephanie out to help him feel better. She refuses at first thinking he hates her. He explains that he doesn't, and that everyone learns from their mistakes. They agrees, since he can't write any music in his current shape, she can help him by writing lyrics. And with that, he hugs her, and does not feel any pain at all!

 025 * It's Not My Job

Jesse is absolutely thrilled that he has made his very first sale of an advertising jingle, which he demonstrates with the Rippers to the family in the living room as they return from the dentist's office. Speaking of which, it turns out that Stephanie has gotten her very first cavity, and she is afraid of going to the dentist to get it fixed. Everyone tries to alleviate her emotional pain, but to no avail. Later on, when Jesse's parents, Nick and Irene, arrive for a visit, everyone's excited, until Jesse drops the bombshell about the success of his first jingle sale - and realizing he is able to make a living off his music now - he reveales to Nick that he is ready to leave his pest extermination business. Nick is severely disappointed - so disappointed that he loses his temper and threatens to disown his son and kick him out of the family. Jesse, along with Irene, manage to talk some sense into Nick in the end, who realizes that Jesse's dream is to make it in the music business, and although Nick is still unhappy about Jesse's untimely decision, he and Jesse work things out. Meanwhile, Stephanie is still petrified to go to the dentist to get a tooth filled, and she's even more nervous when she's actually sitting at the dentist's office in the chair in the examination room. Joey, who has taken her to the dentist, helps her beat her fear, as does the dentist himself. Back home, more good news comes in the form of Stephanie arriving home with the usual gift bag of dental goodies - a Snoopy toothbrush, cinnamon dental floss, and a pack of sugarless gum. She remarks that she wants dentists at her next birthday party instead of clowns, as she anxiously shows off her new filling.

So her plan is to secretly keep up the payments for a couple of weeks, and then tell Danny about Rocket, as she figures that will be enough to prove she can handle the responsibility. Stephanie overhears this, and D.J promise that she can own the tail if she keep it a secret. When Kimmy blows her half of the money on shopping at the mall, D.J cannot make the stable payment. She tries to bargain with Jeb, the owner, on other ways to pay, but he only accepts cash. So, in a desperate effort to keep Rocket, she takes him to the house. Danny is shocked when he comes home and sees Rocket. After sending D.J upstairs, Jesse volunteers to ride Rocket out ofthe house. In her room, D.J and Danny have a talk about what happened. When Jesse is suffering from writer's block, Joey becomes an unlikely source of inspiration as Jesse prepares his latest advertising jingle for Fred's Tire Town. The result is that it is bought. Realizing that he and Joey can work quite well together, Jesse convinces his buddy to become his partner in the advertising business. With the success of the Fred's Tire Town jingle, they decide to do one for Kitty Krispies cat food as a duet, with a guy singing with his cat. But when Joey bring cat-puppets to the jingle presentation, and it's not bought, a feud erupts between them. Meanwhile, D.J and Stephanie are at odds because of Stephanie's constant breaking of the rules that D.J set up in their room. For example, D.J returns from karate practice and catches Stephanie and Harry playing on her bed. Later, D.J catches Stephanie and Harry eating orange ice cream bars that were reserved for herself and Kimmy, and she has definitely had enough. Elsewhere, Danny takes on the daunting task of potty-training Michelle. While potty-training her, he uses a doll and play-set to demonstrate. To get back at Stephanie for messing with her stuff, D.J return the favor by tying all her shoes together. This coincides with Joey and Jesse's feud when they return from their jingle session. Jesse is of course blaming Joey for their failure, threatening a breakup! But the girls have an idea. The all gather in the girls' room, reminding eachother not to walk away angry. Joey apologizes to Jesse, realizing he should have consulted him first. They each admit their fear of failing in their talents, but agree they make a great team and commit to remaining partners.  028 * Beach Boy Bingo

Danny is beyond elated when the Beach Boys are slated to appear on Wake Up, San Fransisco, and with a musical group as timeless as this one, it's not difficult for the entire Tanner household to get in the spirit. However, everyone is disappointed to learn that the guys must cancel their guest visit, as their plane is unable to land because of fog. Especially Danny when he misses his chance to have the The Beach Boys on his show that morning. But when D.J. participates in a radio telephone contest, she is suddenly the lucky winner of two free Beach Boys concert tickets.
Unfortunately, with five eager family members and only one extra ticket, the stress of choosing someone to come with her may be too much to handle. She wishes she could take the entire family with her, but according to the contest rules, she is allowed to bring only one guest. Naturally, Danny assumes that he will be D.J's choice since he also likes the Beach Boys. But, much to his dismay, she selects Jesse instead. This causes an argument due to jealousy between Danny and Jesse, and D.J then gives the tickets to the guys, saying she is not going since it's not worth someone feeling hurt or disappointed. Neither part will accept it, and the guys ultimateley think D.J should attend the concert. Stephanie then volunteers to go along with Joey. It then becomes an argument that involves the entire family, until D.J.'s phone rings. Stephanie answers the phone and it turns out to be the Beach Boys themselves, who later pay the Tanners a surprise visit. After a pizza feast at the house, they invite the whole family to not only the concert, but also to appear onstage with them, which they happily accept.

The next day, D.J arrives home from karate class an hour late without telling Joey that she was with friends, practicing for an upcoming karate tournament. Joey then grounds D.J for the weekend when the karate tournament is scheduled to take place. D.J becomes furious, angrily reminding Joey that he is not her father. She then storms off upstairs, leaving Joey completely shocked, speechless, and depressed. Meanwhile on the next day, Jesse and The Rippers are scheduled to appear on Wake Up, San Francisco, where their performance is messed up by Danny's boss, Mr. Strowbridge, who wants Danny to sing with the band. While everyone is fogged in the house, Jesse helps Nick and Irene patch things up, and Nick help make Jesse realize that he should have talked to D.J. about her and Kimmy erasing the tape instead of yelling at her and trying to buy her forgiveness by buying the drum set for her. D.J request Joey to help out with her green belt karate test, while Stephanie ask
Jesse to help out with her Elvis impersonation for her Hoeybee talent show. They both want to help out the girls, but have to devote increasing amount of time with their new campaign. Danny takes on more responsibility, helping D.J
with her karate and Stephanie with her Elvis impersonation, both of which are extremely successful. Though when Jesse and Joey's boss approaches them once again with an even more exciting job offer, including getting their own office, there's more at stake than they originally anticipated, as both girls fear that if the guys take the job, they will miss out on even more events of their lives. To remedy this problem, they set up a checkers scale. Red checkers to represent reasons to keep the job, and black checkers to represent reasons to quit. On the black side; both missing out on time with the girls, Jesse missing out on his music gigs, Joey missing out on his comedy gigs. On the red side; the job pays more money, they like writing jingles, they enjoy being out in the real world, and the last three months that they tried something like this together showed more success than either of their hobbies. Jesse and Joey decide to take the job, but only if they can work from the house instead of their new office. That way, there will always be someone at home with the girls.

Later, sorting the valentines she got at school, Stephanie asks about the sweater, and D.J shows her the evidence, piece by piece. Not wanting Danny to know about this, D.J plans a trip to the mall to replace the sweater, which is priced at $80. Both Kimmy and Stephanie help out, but once all their money is totaled, they're still short. At the store, Stephanie sees a sign that says 'Buy now, Pay later'.  040 * Goodbye, Mr. Bear

It is the annual Spring Cleaning time, which has become one of Danny's favorite times of the year. Part of the Spring Cleaning tradition is to give away to charity whatever is not used or needed anymore. During the course of things, Jesse learns what 'little cause, big effect' means when he accidentally breaks a drawer handle in the kitchen, and ends up having to renovate the kitchen's entire network of cabinets and drawers because the broken handle's design has been discontinued. So he buys all new ones. But then the screws are too big and he has to drill bigger holes for them to fit. Unfortunately, it cracks the drawers and he gets a new design that doesn't go very well with the cabinet design that is in the kitchen, so Jesse buys cabinets that match. Needless to say, Danny is furious when he sees this. D.J's pillow person makes also it first appearance in this episode. Meanwhile, Stephanie is frantic. It seems that Mr. Bear, the stuffed toy bear that the girls' mother, Pam Tanner, gave Stephanie on the day Pam brought newborn Michelle home from the hospital, is missing. Subconsciously, Stephanie does not want to lose Mr. Bear because it was a gift from Pam, and it reminds Stephanie of her. The whole family helps Stephanie look for Mr. Bear, but to no avail. Stephanie then suspects that Joey may have unintentionally given Mr. Bear away to charity, but it turns out that Michelle know where Mr. Bear has been all along, because Michelle had hidden Mr. Bear wanting him for herself. The episode end with the family remembering Pam by watching home movies of Pam arriving home from the hospital with baby Michelle two years ago.

Now, years later, Patty tracks down Joey's phone number and calls him up. Joey, on impulse, invites Patty over to the house, although Danny is reluctant and does not like this one bit, because he does not want to see Joey once again get hurt by Patty. When Patty comes over to the house, she finally explains that she left Joey for Michael Winchester because she wanted more romance in her life and while she thought Joey was a great guy and funny, she did not think that Joey was serious about settling down and having a real relationship. Realizing how much time has passed and that a lot of things have changed, Joey and Patty now decide to start their relationship all over with a completely clean slate. Meanwhile, Kimmy uses Stephanie and D.J. as guinea pigs for a magic trick involving a pair of magician's handcuffs that belong to Kimmy's brother Garth, who is in Las Vegas for the time being. Kimmy proceedes with the magic trick and D.J. and Stephanie are now cuffed to each other. Kimmy then realizes she does not remember how to do the trick that is needed to remove them. And an even bigger problem is that Garth has the key that unlocks the cuffs. The whole family takes a trip to Lake Tahoe, and stays at The Fabolous Alibaba Hotel and Casino while there, where Danny and Becky are scheduled to do a very special live episode of Wake Up, San Francisco. While hanging out in the casino, Joey tries his luck on the slot machines with not much luck at first. He however does eventually win the $100.000 jackpot, but sadly doesn't receive the money because the surveilance videotape shows that it was actually D.J pulling the machine's lever then ducking back to the other side of a barrier dividing the slot machine's from the table where Stephanie and D.J were sat - dying to play - while an unsuspecting Joey walked away for a couple of minutes to get more coins. Unfortunelately, unattended minors are not legally allowed to play the machines. Joey didn't know it was D.J who pulled the lever at first, so of course he's surprised when he's handed the videotape instead of the money from the hotel manager. Meanwhile, Jesse who has been planning a romantic weekend with Becky during their stay and finally tell her he loves her, gets insanely jealous because Becky can't get her mind off of her interview subject, movie superstar Todd Masters (Steve Bond), who is scheduled to be a guest on the special episode of Wake Up, San Francisco. Jesse then makes it his mission to make Becky equally as jealous, so Becky will know how she's making him feel, leading to a very heated argument in their hotel room. When they calm down, they express their love for eachother and Jesse get down on one knee and ask Becky to marry him. Though initially taken off guard, Becky accepts the proposal.
