D.J is planning a surprise birthday party for best friend Kimmy Gibbler, who is turning 12. She is inviting some of their closest friends and has already made out a list of the party foods and drinks to be served. Stephanie, thinking she is invited to the party, brings out a couple of dresses and asks D.J which will look better on her. Kimmy comes by to take D.J to school, and she reminds her about going to the movies, when Stephanie slips up on the real plan. Danny is anxious to hear the what the big news his boss promised him on the phone. It turns out that the station has created a new local morning show entitled Wake Up, San Francisco, and they need two people to host the new show. Danny is named as one of the hosts, while his co-host for the new show is Rebecca Donaldson. That night, the party is underway with a bulk of guests. But before can begin, Michelle and Stephanie interrupt. Then, Kimmy shows up, along with two new friends from junior high and karate class, Nina and Melissa. Though, upon arriving, all the two girls want to do is crash the party and invite their friends. This forces D.J to throw them out, to Kimmy's dismay. The next day, D.J has had the worst day at school, as Kimmy got everyone to call her Geek Burger for getting kicked out of the birthday party. Later, Danny wants everyone to watch a tape of the new show, including Becky, just as Jesse walks through the front door and first meet Becky. Everyone gathers in the living room, as Danny notes he's nervous, and ask what everyone thinks. With help from Jesse and Joey, D.J realize that if she and Kimmy do not make up quickly, their friendship will come to an end.
