Sister Kate

Sister Kate was an American television sitcom series, created by Frank Dungan, Jeff Stein and Tony Sheehan, that aired for one consequtive season on the NBC network
from September 16, 1989 to July 30, 1990, during the 1989–1990 television season. The series starred Stephanie Beacham as Sister Kate Lambert, a no-nonsense nun
and a biblical archaeologist, whose vocation had traditionally provided assignments to cultured settings, is transferred from an archaeological dig site to the diocesan
Redemption House, an orphanage inhabited by a motley group of children, located in Chicago, Illinois. Kate, who wasn't naturally much of a people person, let alone
the mothering type, took the job after her three predecessors were sent packing by the little angels. Here, Sister Kate is put in care and charge of a group of seven
unwanted boisterous orphans, ages ranging from 7 til 16 years old. This was an unusally important position that would normally be held by a priest but the kids at the orphanage were so difficult to deal with that they had driven three priests from the job and no others wanted to tackle the task. Sister Kate didn't have it easy either but she managed to
find ways of dealing with the pranks and do her best to find adoptive parents for the kids. Storylines throughout the series involved such as Sister Kate, who was nicknamed 'Sister Mary
Rambo', cleverly matching wits with the kids, and the kids' potential adoptions. Sister Kate premiered on Saturday, September 16, 1989 at 9:30 EST, and was moved to 8:00 EST on Sundays
for the remainder of its run. The low-rated series was canceled after eighteen episodes, due to competition from America's Funniest Home Videos and Murder, She Wrote.
